BA(Hons), BArch Manchester, RIBA
Whilst a student at Manchester School of Architecture, Chris was part of a creative collaboration with the Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya in Barcelona who developed a series of architectural projects and artworks addressing the issues of regeneration, public intervention and urban ideals. This culminated in the publication of the book ‘Interventions. Atelier Barcelona/Manchester’ (pub. Artemide) and an exhibition at Manchester’s Cube Gallery.
Chris gained his RIBA chartership in 2009. Between 2009 and 2012 he worked at a commercial practice in Manchester, concentrating on large-scale residential and mixed-use developments. He was also involved in the successful planning proposals for Morecambe FC’s new stadium.
Chris joined Hayes & Partners in January 2013 and became an Associate in May 2016. He works both at the design and planning stages of each project, and on project delivery as a Project Architect and Contract Administrator.
To complement his experience and knowledge of working with historic and listed buildings, Chris is an RIBA-accredited Conservation Registrant and a quinquennial inspector for local Methodist churches. In addition, he is responsible for Hayes & Partners’ implementation of BIM (Building Information Modelling), allowing the practice to jointly design technical and engineering detail with other disciplines in the construction sector.
