Historic Buildings

At Hayes & Partners we specialise in sensitive design, conservation and enhancement of Listed and historic buildings; whether you wish to extend a barn, renovate interior spaces, upgrade services, or adapt for modern use. With 2 RIBA Conservation Registrant Directors, our team understands the complexity and parameters when working with listed buildings. Our reputation as historic building consultants has been built on repeat commissions and successfully navigating difficult heritage applications across Cheshire and the North West.

As no two heritage projects are the same, we tailor every scheme to best suit the project. Our design team is equally adept at enhancing historic features with clean, modern design or subtly matching them with accurate period detailing.

Our initial consultation and appraisal will help understand the buildings historical importance and identify potential and constraints before design work begins with desktop studies and site surveys we often unearth hidden structures and identify key features that can be central to the buildings future. We prepare heritage statements and specification documents to support Listed Building Consent and Planning Permission applications, liaising with Historic Consultants, Conservation Officers, and Historic England, where necessary.

We can also specify repairs where required and, if appropriate, ensure the original fabric is honoured ensuring reversibility.
